As a holder of Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, Joost brings 28 years of extensive experience in the petrochemical industry in Europe, North America and Asia.

As an engineer, he progressed up the ladder holding numerous positions which are instrumental in shaping his career today. Joost possesses strong operational experience with direct oversight of sizeable and complex refineries and petrochemical facilities including in Joint Venture (JV) organisation.  

Prior to joining PRefChem, Joost served as President of the Fujian Refining and Petrochemical Company (FREP) in China. He also served as Site Manager at ExxonMobil Huizhou Chemical Company and most recently as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Legal Representative at Huizhou QuanMei Petrochemical Terminal, a JV between ExxonMobil and Vopak.
